Tanning Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Is Fake Bake spray tan safe?

Yes. Fake Bake products are completely safe and contain no parabens or artificial preservatives.

Do I need a patch test?

We recommend that you obtain a patch test if you have never used any self-tanning product before or have very sensitive skin.

Is there a minimum age limit?

No, anyone can have a spray tan. However we will require signed parental consent for anyone under the age of 16.

What do I need to do before my spray tan?

Please see our 'Spray Tan Advice' under the Tanning section on this website.

What should I wear to get my tan?

As much or as little as you want. Some people wear a bikini, swimwear, g-string or nothing at all - it is entirely up to you as to what you feel comfortable in.

How long will my tan last?

If you follow the before and aftercare advice, your tan can last for up to 7-10 days.

I'm going on holiday, will I still need to use sun protection?

Yes. Fake tanning does not protect you in any way from the sun's harmful rays - always wear sun protection when going out or sunbathing.

I am pregnant, can I still have a tan?

We would not recommend a fake tan for anyone in the first three months of pregnancy. This is due to changes of the skin taking place in the first 12 weeks. Although the tan is perfectly safe for you and your unborn child, you may find that the tan does not 'take' to your skin or is patchy.

I'm getting married, will it rub off on my dress?

No. Make sure you get your tan applied at least 1 day before your wedding and thoroughly wash off the guide colour after the development time.
